I started writing online in 2019, so this is so relatable to me. I started on Medium and it seemed like it was fading before I ever got much traction. So of course, chasing the next thing, I went over to Twitter in 2022 but have never gained much traction.
I recently concluded that somewhere in all of that I forgot what I really liked doing...writing about the things I was struggling with, ideas that excited me, and letting loose in the world the things my soul most wanted to share. Not email subscribers, followers, views, or whatever metric I was chasing.
Yes, I'd like to write for a living someday. But for now, I'm gonna show up every morning and write what I need to say. Write the books I want to share and focus on getting better each day as a writer and a human being.
